A day in the Expert Zone at Sports Parkinson’s Try-Athlon

I was invited to join the Expert Zone at Sports Parkinson’s and Cure Parkinson’s Try-Athlon event in June and we had a brilliant day.

It was inspiring being around people living with Parkinson’s, specialist healthcare professionals, carers and family all full of enthusiasm and dedication toward living better with Parkinson’s.

The day was packed with expert insights and powerful reminders of how important movement is in managing the condition and staying well.

People had the opportunity to try different sports and activities – from chair yoga with myself, to walking football, cricket and chair Pilates – and heard more about the benefits of exercise and nutrition from experts.

I had the privilege of delivering my chair yoga session on stage and connecting with fantastic movement specialists including @thorpesneurorehab @neuroheroes @parkinsons.exercise.expert @bouncebackexercise @cureparkinsons @parkinsonsuk @sportpdinsta

HUGE thanks to @sportparkinsonstryathlon2025 for having me — and for championing the all-important message: movement matters 🧠💪🏽
